We’re Following Our Founder, Tiffany Haddish On Her Funny & Fearless Comedy Tour Bringing Luggage and Laughter to Foster Youth Across America

Reno, NV - She Ready Foundation is on its way to Reno, Nevada, to visit the RennerVation Foundation for the third stop of its Luggage & Laughter Tour! As a core program initiative, She Ready Foundation provides over 2,000 pieces of luggage annually to those impacted by foster care. 

Alarmingly, statistics reveal that foster kids are disproportionately vulnerable to homelessness, academic challenges, and social isolation. According to Washoe County.gov, in the Reno area alone, there are approximately 900 children in foster care and less than 400 foster families.

She Ready Foundation’s unique proposition begins with the authenticity of our founder, Tiffany Haddish, who has first-hand experience with the foster care system. Haddish knows all too well what it’s like to move from place to place in the middle of the night with all of her belongings packed in garbage bags, feeling like the world has forgotten about her.

"Every child who is removed from their parents deserves to have a suitcase, a safe place to lay their head, and a platform to follow their dreams," said Haddish.

The nonprofit, whose goal is to provide luggage to foster youth in each state, ensuring that every child impacted by foster care can live a life with dignity, is partnering with RennerVation Foundation, a youth-focused public charity founded by siblings Jeremy Renner and Kym Renner, based in Nevada. With a mission to offer children in foster care and at-risk youth the chance to embrace a childhood filled with joy, growth, and belonging, RennerVation Foundation will help distribute luggage to local Reno foster youth on Friday, August 29, at RVF Headquarters in Reno, NV. RennerVation Foundation Executive Director, Valieria Koss, MPP, states,

The two-hour giveaway will invite local foster youth to receive new luggage, exclusive She Ready Foundation and RennerVation Foundation keepsakes, and also include a special book reading of Haddish’s children’s book, Layla, The Last Black Unicorn. 

The Luggage & Laughter Tour is sponsored by The Alesia Alpert Family Foundation and coincides with stops on Haddish’s comedy tour. The Reno event preceded her performance at Silver Legacy Resort Casino.
